Folks who know me will undoubtedly know that Senegal and Estonia are two of my favorite countries. (Heck, they comprise two of the four countries in my book.)
So, you bet my interest was piqued when I read that Doudou Diène, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, just authored a study on racism in Estonia. I’m guessing that he just might be the only Senegalese person in recent memory to set foot on Estonian soil.
I’m not sure that I understand all the issues here, but Justin, over at Itching for Eestimaa, my source for all things Estonian, has a post about it.
In addition, apparently Diène has just arrived Stateside to do a similar study about us.

I don’t really understand what your website is about. Are you saying people are racists against Estonians or that there are racists in Estonia. I have never been to Estonia but a large part of the county is native and tribal people, which of them would be racist I don’t know.
Estonia is not a condoning the second world war in any way, and I am sure as are others who were not yet born wished that it never took place, just like many other wars and atrocities in any other part of the world.
I am happy to see that the Koran has been printed in Estonian, although skeptical about this information as you never what you might read on the internet. Is it true or not?
I myself have enjoyed East Indian / West Indian foods since I was a youth, I read and study Koran, I attend the Masjid, I do not have much time to write, I am learning arabic / Urdu. I am not a racist. In Islam we do not tolerate this thinking. Inshallah!
I hope more Islam comes to Estonia, and gone with the polytheists! Inshallah !
Allah Subhanna Wa Ta Allah
But what kind of a website is this?
Firstly, I’m not saying anything. I was merely noting the fact that Diène authored a study on racism in Estonia — the treatment of Russians in Estonia. There are no “tribal” people there.
Further, I don’t think that there are any polytheists in Estonia. The majority of religious people are Lutheran or Russian Orthodox.
