Snowy Sunday

[From yesterday]

It’s a snowy Sunday here in Hartford. My big accomplishment of the day was making chocolate chip cookies with Martin. The rest of the day consisted of watching Eddie Izzard and playing FIFA 2004 on Martin’s Xbox. Sweet.

This article provides an interesting perspective on what the Internet does for military officers in the field. I didn’t know about SIPRNET.

And apparently Sy Hersh is coming out with a story came out with a story in the next New Yorker from Iran that says that we have covert ops looking for chem/nuke/bio sites to destroy. I met him a few months ago in NYC and he said he’d be in Iran soon. I’m glad he’s doing this work, but nonetheless I really don’t want to see the US go to war with Iran, or any more countries for that matter.

This scares me. Really.

ÒThis is a war against terrorism, and Iraq is just one campaign. The Bush Administration is looking at this as a huge war zone,Ó the former high-level intelligence official told me. ÒNext, weÕre going to have the Iranian campaign. WeÕve declared war and the bad guys, wherever they are, are the enemy. This is the last hurrahÑweÕve got four years, and want to come out of this saying we won the war on terrorism.Ó
