Guten Morgen Berlin! Auf Wiedersehen!

Greetings from Berlin, where I’m crashing with John and Aimee for one night before heading onto Geneva. Well, more accurately I’ve just done my crashing for the night, seeing as it’s morning here now. But they’ve been gracious hosts in their apartment just off of Bornholmer Straße in the northeastern part of the city.

Last night we walked around the neighborhood, hit up a bar, went out for Japanese food, and then hit up another bar on the way home. John remarked that the weather was 3 degrees C “and melty” — most of the little snow that was on the ground has since turned into slush.

J & A are the latest people among others that I know who make a very strong case for living in Berlin (particularly having come from San Francisco). That’s definitely something worth exploring in the future, not to mention the rest of this city.

I’m off to Geneva today for the final leg of this five week trip. Sheesh, it’s been five and a half years since the last time I was there. Two nights there, then the TGV back to Paris and then home.
