So contrary to what I had expected, Edwards didn’t totally mop the floor with Cheney, and he gave a great effort. There wasn’t a lot to cut in on or really take him down with. Edwards gave a better closing statement than Cheney did. Cheney didn’t really respond to the accusations that he said that electing Kerry would be more dangerous and seemed to deny that he had said there was a link between Al Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks. Solid all around.
One thing I do wish for is when the candidates go after each other saying that their basic facts are wrong that the moderator could come in and present some kind of definitive conclusion as to where they get their numbers or who is right, because it seems like these guys can basically pull any old number out of anywhere and then just say that the other guy is wrong.
