I owe Uncle Sam $67, and Gov. Arnold owes me $23.
Following last night’s marathon party (6.5 hrs at least!), today I was mildly productive. Rachel and I checked out Meal Ticket, up on San Pablo and Gilman, and it was good, but the wait staff was sorta weird, and I forgot to leave a tip — so it ended up being a mixed bag. I had an artichoke and melted bleu cheese omelette, the first time I’ve had melted bleu cheese before — quite tasty but an overwhelming flavor. We…

It’s Friday at Noon
Well, I’ve got my print debut in Macworld in the May 2004 issue. Page 85, in Geek Factor, to be exact. It’s a story on the Tatra Mac G4 — just a small three graf thing, but still, I’m pretty proud of it. 🙂 I’ll have a couple more things in the June and July issues. In other news, I got the B2 internship, and Time Inc. is footing the bill. Good stuff. So Rachel R. and I will overlap…

“Go to Canada.”
You know you’re living with David Boyk when: he wakes up in the morning and pronounces that he’s going to make chow mein for breakfast, just because. And then he does. And it’s great. [This happened about two days ago.] Happy birthday, dude. In other news, I’ve sent out 13 rŽsumŽs and a few more electronic versions. If nothing happens, NYC will be in my future, I think. Yet another reason why I love Canada: A Canadian federal judge essentially…

Columbia Ramblings
Well, I don’t know what to say anymore. First I wasn’t going to apply to grad school, then I did, then I didn’t want to go, then I did again, then I didn’t want to go again, then I got into Columbia, and yesterday I was ready to commit to going, and now, I’m not so sure anymore. I hate this. Columbia is great, but the truth is, I do want a job. And I know I’ve been annoying some…

Free WiFi at SBC Park
“We’ve created, if not the largest, one of the largest hot spots in the world,” said Larry Baer, the team’s chief operating officer. “We’re the first professional sports facility to provide people universal WiFi connectivity.” Yay! Free WiFi!

Columbia University: Graduate School of Journalism
Holy fuck. I just got into Columbia. Talk about throwing my life all out of whack again. More later.

One more thing
I got an email from the Cake mailing list saying that they’re playing a secret show at the Blue Lamp in Sacramento on Tuesday (March 30th) at 9 pm. Doors open at 8 pm, tix are $10, available only at the door. 21+ only. This is the show that I went to a few weeks ago. It’s pretty fun — check it out if you can go.

Looking for something to do this Sunday evening?
Come see me perform with the UC Wind Ensemble in the San Francisco Music Festival at the Palace of Fine Arts in SF this Sunday at 5:15 pm! I’ve got one comp ticket, and possibly more. Let me know if you’re interested.

If I could talk to myself in the future what would I say?
FutureMe.org, as mentioned on Boing Boing is a site that allows you to email your future self for anytime up to 25 years in the future. A strange prospect. Reading some of the public entries are really quite interesting. Meeting with Business 2.0 today about an internship. How rad would it be if Rachel R. and I were interns together? My Dad just called me and he wants me to fly down to LA to have a powwow about my…

I really am going to start my Econ homework after this, I swear.
Today I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. Rachel and I had lunch over at the Creamery in Palo Alto where at the end of my French Dip sandwich, I brought up the topic of grad school and jobs and all of that. As many of you know, I’ve applied to some extraordinary number of grad schools (15). The whole reason why I applied to grad school was because my father urged it, and he was willing to support me,…
