Recently I had the pleasure of flying on your airline. As a stockholder, I was pleased to enjoy the comfortable seats, excellent staff, and on-time flights. <\/p>\n
One of the features that you tout on your airplanes is the presence of DirectTV and over 30 channels of television available from each seat at no additional charge. While this may be useful to people who can’t seem to exist without a television nearby, I usually find television at best perplexing and at worst boring. My regular television consumption is limited to a small number of shows that I can count on one hand — all of which I get online, as I do not own a television. <\/p>\n
That being said, I was a captive audience on this flight, and found myself checking into the tube landscape to see what people are watching these days. Being a journalist, I am always interested in what’s happening on the news, so I scanned through your news stations. I discovered that the only 24 hour news networks you carry are CNBC, Fox News, and CNN Headline News. I also found that you show no less than four flavors of ESPN, which include ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, and ESPN Classic. <\/p>\n
I’m a moderate sports fan like most folks, so I understand wanting to cater to that audience, but really, honestly, would it be too much to ask to swap ESPN Classic for CNN? I mean, who watches that anyawy? How I long for the the classic, good CNN that we all know and came to love in the 1990s. I really could do without its headline bastard step-cousin.<\/p>\n
Or, if not, how about removing Fox News in favor of CNN? All that flag waving gives me a headache.<\/p>\n
