I had to get <a href=\"http:\/\/travel.state.gov\/passport\/fri\/add\/add_850.html\">extra pages added to my U.S. passport<\/a>. The website says it can take up to six weeks, but I got mine back in under two. Sweet!<\/p>\n<p>Today, I went to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asianart.org\/\">Asian Art Museum<\/a> and met <a href=\"http:\/\/www.torandj.com\/ala-ebtekar\/bio.html\">Ala Ebtekar<\/a>, a Berkeley-born Iranian hip-hop visual artist. We chatted a bit and he told me to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jatbar.com\/detail.asp?num=45\">Rose Market<\/a> in Mountain View to get some real-deal <i>koobideh<\/i> as well as other staples like <i>bastani<\/i> (Persian ice cream). His art is sweet.<\/p>\n<p>On the way home, I got library cards at the <a href=\"http:\/\/sfpl.lib.ca.us\/\">San Francisco Public Library<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oaklandlibrary.org\/\">Oakland Public Library<\/a>, where I checked out <i>Das Boot<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>When I got home, I checked my mail and discovered that I randomly got sent a $42 check from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaa.org\">AAA<\/a>, thanking me for being a customer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got my passport back!
