But it is like no encyclopedia Diderot could have imagined. Instead of relying on experts to write articles according to their expertise, Wikipedia lets anyone write about anything. You, I, and any wired-up fool can add entries, change entries, even propose that entries be deleted. For reasons I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d rather not share outside of therapy, I created a one-line biographical entry on \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Marshall Poe.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d It didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t take long for my tiny article to come to the attention of Wikipedia\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s self-appointed guardians. Within a week, a very active\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand by most accounts responsible\u00e2\u20ac\u201dScottish Wikipedian named \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Alai\u00e2\u20ac\u009d decided that \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 well, that I wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t worth knowing about. Why? \u00e2\u20ac\u0153No real evidence of notability,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Alai cruelly but accurately wrote, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153beyond the proverbial average college professor.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Dude, get over yourself.
