The haft sin table includes seven items specific starting with the letter S or S\u00c3\u00aen (\u00d8\u00b3) in Persian alphabet). The items symbolically correspond to seven creations and holy immortals protecting them. Originally called Haft Chin (\u00d9\u2021\u00d9\u0081\u00d8\u00aa \u00da\u2020\u00db\u0152\u00d9\u2020), the Haft Sin has evolved over time, but has kept its symbolism.
