After work, I went and picked up Giselle at SFO. It’s her first time in California! She seemed pretty astounded to see “hills” — I guess they don’t have those in Canada\/Philly. <\/p>\n
I had parked my car at Millbrae BART for the day and CalTrained into the city. However, I discovered that I’d inadvertandly left my lights on when I returned to my car, a half hour before I was supposed to pick up Giselle. I called AAA, but they said it would take close to an hour. I asked the first guy I saw in the parking lot if he had jumper cables, and he did! I was set in no-time. He suggested that if my car didn’t start today that I should replace the battery — the car has 140,000 miles on it and I’m not sure if it’s ever been replaced. Remind me to invest in jumper cables.<\/p>\n
BCN has been pretty quiet so far. I’m not sure anything can top the exploding turkey<\/a>. <\/p>\n Tonight, Giselle and my friend Sara (and a friend of hers) are going to hit up the Mission tonight for some Peruvian food at Mi Lindo Peru<\/a> followed by a performance called “Fula from America: An African Journey” at The Marsh<\/a>.
