Saturday

After work, I went and picked up Giselle at SFO. It’s her first time in California! She seemed pretty astounded to see “hills” — I guess they don’t have those in Canada/Philly.

I had parked my car at Millbrae BART for the day and CalTrained into the city. However, I discovered that I’d inadvertandly left my lights on when I returned to my car, a half hour before I was supposed to pick up Giselle. I called AAA, but they said it would take close to an hour. I asked the first guy I saw in the parking lot if he had jumper cables, and he did! I was set in no-time. He suggested that if my car didn’t start today that I should replace the battery — the car has 140,000 miles on it and I’m not sure if it’s ever been replaced. Remind me to invest in jumper cables.

BCN has been pretty quiet so far. I’m not sure anything can top the exploding turkey.

Tonight, Giselle and my friend Sara (and a friend of hers) are going to hit up the Mission tonight for some Peruvian food at Mi Lindo Peru followed by a performance called “Fula from America: An African Journey” at The Marsh. Anyone want to join us for either?
