2 large margueritas later . . .

I’m still more or less coherent. My head’s slightly spinny, but I can function. I think I have a pretty high tolerance for alcohol.

I got to meet John Markoff today, the illustrious New York Times reporter, which was pretty rad. He was a guest speaker in my J298 Tech Journalism class. Hopefully, between him, Paul Boutin, Joe Menn and Katie Hafner, that I can really get in with the hip tech journalism crowd.

On the grad school front, I was accepted to American University (in DC), and rejected from Yale University.

Things have been really busy lately. Too much stuff just to deal with. Working on four stories (two for my two J298 classes, Salon.com, and The Age), plus with my other classes, and a thesis is tough. Really tough. I just want to sleep for about two weeks, and then jump right into working as a tech journalist. LSE would be cool though. Or maybe Columbia.

The Heuristic Squelch had its new issue come out this week. My favorite excerpt:

by Dan Freedman, Playa Haitian’

Totally random.” said Press Secretary Scott McClelland. “Someone should do something about this, cause we sure as fuck aren’t doing shit.”
