“At Holocaust Museum, Turning a Number Into a Name”

So after I saw this Times article, I immediately went and had a look at The Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names.

I don’t know anyone personally who was killed in the Holocaust, but I remember my good friend Rachel Rosmarin mentioning that she had some relatives, so I tried her family name. There were 488 results.

I clicked the first one, Rivka Rozmarin from Odessa (based on this record):

Riva Rozmarin was born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1932 to Yakov and Gusta. She was a child. Prior to WWII she lived in Odessa, Ukraine. During the war was in Odessa, Ukraine. Riva died in Odessa, Ukraine. This information is based on a Page of Testimony submitted by her aunt from Ukraine.

Amazing.
