Obama was behind bulletproof glass?

Am I the last person to find out that Obama spoke on Tuesday night behind “10 feet high and 15 feet long” “two-inch thick bullet proof glass” ?

I think so. 🙂 They didn’t make any effort to hide it, unlike the teleprompters. It was very visible all through the speech. But you were probably quite sleepy by then. 🙂

Yeah, I might have to agree with Samir. It was pretty obvious even on TV. I didn’t know it was two-inch thick however. And really, could you blame him for the precaution?

It was very noticeable, but it was only on his left and right. Did they assume that there was little threat from the front? (and back?)

I can’t remember where I read this but I recall a recent article saying that Obama was the best protected presidential candidate in 2 decades…

I kept asking the others I was watching with that night what the glass was for? I even asked if they all thought it was bulletproof and everyone said no!
