If I had something witty to say, this is where I would say it
Well, it’s Thursday. I have six more days of class. I’m really struggling with getting myself motivated to go anymore. Now that the thesis is over, I don’t know what to do with myself anymore. I had beers with some of my thesis mates yesterday and they seemed to be feeling the same thing. It’s weird how I’ve been in this class with these people for some time now and only now am getting to know them. I found out…

Well, I took my thesis to the printer. And a few minutes before the stroke of midnight, I have my entire thesis online for your reading pleasure: “The Powerful Force”: An Examination of the Internet in Senegal Read ’em and weep, fellas.

DONE!
… all 159 pages of it. Proper online version will be up later tonight. I’ve been sitting at my living room table since 9 am this morning with no breaks — I’m still in my PJs. DONE!

Big Baller Mahler
Alright kiddies, we’re down to the wire now. 139 pages. Only a conclusion and a table of contents and some minor editing whatzits stands in between me and thesis glory. I’m shooting to have it done within the next 14 hours. It’s due in 28 hours, but I have to get it printed and stuff. I’m going to be glad to take my 50 books back to the library. Yessir. Finished All the Rave over the weekend. Good book. How…

“Cause everyone’s your friend in New York City.”
So I’m going to Columbia. It’s decided. Really. Paul helped push me over the edge. Now the only issue is, do I keep my 510 number, or do I go for the 212 (can you even get one of those now?) ? I’m thinking that I’ll keep the 510. And we’re taking a family trip to Chicago and then onto Montréal in mid-June for my Dad’s AIA fellowship awards thing, and then to visit family in the Great White North.…

A Sunny, Pleasant Thursday
It’s a gorgeous day in the East Bay. Walking around campus on a sunny day is so much more enjoyable then when it’s dark and gloomy. Today in lieu of going up to see my grandparents’ (they had prior engagements) I went to this seminar on “Wardriving, Wireless Access and the Law” at CFP2004 over at the Claremont Hotel. Was pretty much what I expected, didn’t learn a whole lot, except that when I asked about the legality of what…

Live from the Thesis Trenches
Ah, I amuse myself: Wilson and Heeks further their argument by saying that the reason that the traditional media do not get as much attention as ICT [Information and Communications Technologies] does is that “they are just not ‘sexy’ enough to capture decision-makers attention.” Again, this line of thinking is not substantiated at all — the authors did not provide a definition of the term, “sexy.”If by “sexy,” the authors mean that ICT has a certain appeal that these traditional…

Extra crunchy for added fun.
Let me just say for the record that having to bring up Marxist political theory in a 2004 undergraduate thesis is pure bullshit. Same goes for its spawned theories, like Galtung’s Dependency Theory. Seriously though, what is Marx good for anymore? We’ve just broken the 35,000 word threshold here, kids. (That’s 103 pages for those of you keeping score at home.) Got a bunch more stuff to add, including a Prologue, Conclusion and random stuff in between. I love Thomas…

“We’ll find that out soon.”
Busy. I graduate in a month. My thesis is due in two weeks. Scary. I ditched a bunch of classes this week. I just paid my taxes and SBC bill online. I love paying for things online. It’s so much funner. Was very unimpressed with the Bush speech last night. WashPost had a good piece on it. Best exchange EVER: QUESTION: Mr. President, why are you and the vice president insisting on appearing together before the 9-11 commission? And, Mr.…
