For the Record
What I wrote on Nov. 1, 2004: So I was watching the clips that Boing Boing has posted from The Daily Show and I was reminded of a recent idea I had for a new television paradigm: A la carte television. I don’t watch enough TV to justify owning one, let alone paying $40 a month for cable. There just aren’t enough shows that I want to watch on a regular basis. The three things that I do watch, baseball…

Nano!
Oh yes, it is mine! And in case you were wondering how I’m going to fund this operation, I have two items for sale: Ericsson T610 cell phone ($50) iPod 10 GB 3G ($150) A few things that I noticed: iTunes recognizes that it’s black, but yet the registration page doesn’t know that they exist yet. Also, even though I bought the black one, they gave me white cables. Huh. As Paul Boutin reminded me, they’re supposed to come with…

My life is now complete.
Macworld Publisher Rick LePage gave me his Treo 650 for free yesterday. Today, thanks to tips from Macworld Editorial Director Jason Snell, I can play any video on my Treo. That means The Daily Show. Also, when I finally install my new radio in my car, that means I can have The Daily Show audio playing through the car stereo. Holy crap.

Google Thinks RSS is a Bikini Model
So exactly what are “startups championing RSS”? Isn’t that a bit like championing TCP/IP, or HTML? Someone please show me what exactly a company based around RSS is? Hoping to catch the next wave on the Internet, a group of investors has set up a venture capital fund focused on RSS, the technology that allows users to pull selected content from the Web. Based in Cambridge, Mass., RSS Investors, which was formed last week, seeks to raise $100 million to…

Photo problem solved!
So a few days ago, I blogged about which photo I should use as my main press photo. But then I figured that there had to be a way to display all three on a rotating basis in JavaScript. Lo and behold, there is. I found this script which provided me with simple instructions on how to do it. If you go to the main blog site, cfarivar.org, you’ll see that the picture of me rotates now. Sweet.
