How to make $1 mil in Four Months
Reuters: Selling porn? Dealing prescription drugs? Nope. All he sells are pixels, the tiny dots on the screen that appear when you call up his home page. He had the brainstorm for his million dollar home page, called, logically enough, www.milliondollarhomepage.com, while lying in bed thinking out how he would pay for university. The idea: turn his home page into a billboard made up of a million dots, and sell them for a dollar a dot to anyone who wants…

Just bought a JetBlue Flight for MLK weekend
So despite the fact that I’m a stockholder, I’ve never actually flown JetBlue. My grandmother pointed out that they’re currently selling $39 one-ways from OAK to Long Beach, and I immediately grabbed it. (Although in my haste, I had to make a change from a Friday eve flight to an early Sat morning flight due to a thing at work that I forgot about.) I’m leaving my craigslist ad up for now on the off chance that someone replies so…

Macworld Podcast #18: Expo preview
Macworld: by Cyrus Farivar No final 2005 podcast would be complete without a look forward as to what to expect from Apple in 2006. The next big event is Macworld Expo—to be held Jan. 9 – 13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco—so the Macworld editors have been pondering what they might see at the biggest Mac-related trade show of the year. I spoke with Paul Kent, Vice President of IDG World Expo, one of the head honchos in…

Beware xvisioncam.com !
I found this site on a Google Ad somewhere. They advertised crazy prices for memory cards, like a 2 GB SD card for $50. I put in an order. It’s been two weeks and no SD card. It’s a scam. They use my credit card number to buy some AOL service and Yahoo Classified ads. Completely fradulent. The address that they list on the site : 308 Fountain Circle Huntsville, Alabama 35801 is the address of the Huntsville City Council.…

Going to LA 1/13 – 1/16
Is anyone else going to LA for MLK weekend? I could have bought a Southwest ticket last night for $120, but stupidly waited until this morning and now they cost almost $200. I’ve put up an ad on craigslist. My other options are to suck it up and get the $180 ticket on United or Southwest — or try to brave the California Chinatown Bus scene (San Leandro BART to Santa Monica!) for $90 roundtrip on CABus.

Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious
Alright, alright, so I’m a little slow on the Chronicles of Narnia SNL rap. But it’s damn great. Now children, as an excercise, let’s compare blog/media coverage of this event: NYT: Publication Date: December 27, 2005 Summary: Two white guys create the startup version of comedy. The Web helps them to get famous. Best line: And Mr. Samberg found himself in the delicate position of having to explain to his mother that the song’s chorus is a play on words…

Teach, Don’t Preach, the Bible
In the Book of Isaiah, God embraces the Persian king Cyrus and his respect for different religions, even though Cyrus does not know God’s name and does not practice Judaism. By calling Cyrus “the anointed one,” or messiah, God signals his tolerance for people who share his moral vision, no matter their nationality or faith. — Teach, Don’t Preach, the Bible Op-Ed by Bruce Feiler, The New York Times.
