More Music Updates
Nappy Roots is playing at the Red Devil Lounge on June 25. And even better, following Digital Underground on July 2, they’ve got Sir Mix-A-Lot on July 21. Amazing. I’m really tempted to get tickets to one of the latter two. I just bought tix for Mountain Goats (23rd) and for the Ted Leo show in September. Also for sure want to get tix to Daara J and Youssou N’Dour. And speaking of music, check out the Berkeley World Music…

What an all-star.
In case you missed it, the idiot-of-the-week award goes to Kirk Reynolds, former PR head of the 49ers. From the SF Chronicle, June 1, 2005: It was meant to be funny Ñ but no one is laughing now in the San Francisco 49ers’ front office over an in-house training film that featured off- color racial jokes, lesbian porn, a spoof of gay marriage and a trio of buxom, topless blondes frolicking with team public relations director Kirk Reynolds. The 15-minute…

Goodnight, Moon
I forgot to mention that I had an article in last week’s Daily Cal. My good buddy David Boyk is editing the Arts page over the summer, and he commissioned me to review a children’s book. I picked my favorite book of all time, Goodnight, Moon.

End of Vacation
Well, I finally got Internet access (Thanks SBC!) a full five days ahead of schedule. WiFi is up, and is open. Time to catch up on The Daily Show. 🙂 This marks the end of my two week vacation since graduation. My goal was to have the house up and running by the end of two weeks, and I’ve done it. Gas is working, electricity is working, Internet is working. I still need to figure out the exterior lights. Any…

Cottage Update
Lauren and Maria helped me pick out some sweet curtains, a cover for the sofa, pillows, shower curtain, carpet for the coffee table, candles, garden torches at IKEA yesterday. I’m hoping that I still gain some respect from my male friends even though I have strawberry, grapefruit and watermelon candles spread around the house. Picked up Boyk and Michelle today from OAK. El Ojo de Agua was had. Man, that taco truck is good. Chorizo is amazing. Gas was turned…

Words to Live By

“All of Europe, you must do this.” “Well, we’re not gonna. We’re gonna have a sandwich.”
In case you missed it, France’s population has rejected the EU Constitution. I’m interested to read more analysis on this later. Back from Cincy. Good to see Dallas off. Good to be home, though. New kitchen sink tomorrow. Curtains with Maria/Lauren tomorrow. Gas is turned on Tuesday, but no Internet until June 7. WTF!?!? (Good thing for me, there’s WiFi at the Hudson Bay CafŽ nearby.) Party on Saturday. At least I got some freelance work to do. 🙂

The Riverfront City
Greetings from Cincy, where I’m helping my buddy Dallas pack up his apt in preparation for his move to France. I’ve never been to Jesusland before, save a car trip from LA to Atlanta when I was eight years old with my grandparents. I’ve spotted one W ’04 sticker, but not much else. I arrived yesterday morning for the first of my three day sojourn. Dallas picked me up at the Cincinnati airport (which is actually in Northern Kentucky). We…
